A wooden Santa is one of those holiday pieces people keep for decades. Whether you are decorating your own home or shopping for someone who loves a rustic, woodsy Christmas, here is how to choose the right wooden Santa Claus figurine.
Why choose a wooden Santa?
Unlike mass-produced plastic decorations, a wooden Santa is carved and painted by hand, so no two figurines are exactly alike. At Woody Claus, every piece is made in our small family workshop in Maine from sustainably sourced local wood, then hand-painted with care. It is a gift with real character, and one that can come out of the box year after year.
Our wooden Santa Claus figurine
Our Little Wooden Santa Claus Figurine is hand-carved from solid Maine beechwood. Every detail, from the rosy cheeks to the tiny painted boots, is added by hand. Its durable finish makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor display, so it works on a mantel, a shelf or a porch.
Where to display a wooden Santa
- On the mantel, next to candles or a garland.
- On a shelf or sideboard, as part of a small holiday village scene.
- On the porch or by the front door, to welcome guests.
- Beside a small tree, for a matching rustic look.
Pair it with a wooden Christmas tree
A Small Wooden Christmas Tree, shaped from Maine pine and birch, makes a natural companion for the Santa on a table or windowsill. If you want both in one gift box, The Christmas Set pairs a wooden Santa and a wooden tree, ready to give.
A small gift for the tree
For a stocking stuffer or a thank-you gift, the Wooden Santa Claus Ornament is a hand-painted Santa head with a ready-to-hang loop.
